The courses include how to teach in varied environments, organizing specialized courses and running scenarios.  The courses include practice teaching, progressive learning and advanced rescue skills.

3-year certification as Emergency Care Instructor OR Advanced Emergency Care Instructor
Conducted by a certified Red Cross Emergency Care Instructor Trainer

Prerequisites:
Emergency Care Instructor - Proof of current First Responder OR Marine Advanced First Aid
Advanced Emergency Care Instructor - Proof of current Emergency Medical Responder OR Advanced First Aid
Proof of current Red Cross First Aid Instructor status
Pre-course Assignment
19 years of age

Complete Practice Teaching Assignments
80% min. passing grade on written exam

POST-COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Emergency Care Instructor - a co-teach at the First Responder or Marine Advanced First Aid (40-44 hrs) level is required to complete instructor certification after completing the EC Instructor Course
Advanced Emergency Care Instructor - a co-teach at the Emergency Medical Responder or Advanced First Aid (80-84 hrs) level is required to complete instructor certification after completing the AEC Instructor Course
